The Shoalhaven undoubtedly offers an inspiring lifestyle to an increasing number of people. The slower pace of life of our region offers many people an opportunity to get out of the cities, yet still only be a little more than 2 hour drive back to Sydney.

The Shoalhaven has an abundant of wineries in the area as well as Hop Dog Beer Works Brewery.  There is a mini golf. Flip Out Nowra, cinemas, golf courses, Dolphin and Whale watching cruises form Huskisson, ten pin bowling, Jervis Bay marine park, HMAS Albatross Flight Museum, local markets, Oyster purchases from Greenwell Point, Shoalhaven City Arts centre & Bundanon guided tours of the homestead and Arthur Boyd's studio.

 

You will find the Shoalhaven abundant in variety when it comes to agriculture. With fertile soil in the region, farming includes dairy, beef, lamb, crops, vegetables, vineyards and harvests from the sea.

Markets are held at Shoalhaven Heads on the 5th Saturday of the month, Bomaderry Poolside Recreation Park Camberwarra Rd on the 4th Saturday of the month, Greenwell Point, Wandanian, Berry markets are on on the 3rd Sunday of the month, Tomerong Village markets on the 3rd Saturday of the month, Kangaroo Valley & Sussex Inlet Markets on the 2nd Saturday of the month, Huskisson, Milton and Sanctuary Point markets on the 1st Saturday of the month, Nowra Greyhound Track Markets and Pyree Markets are on on the 4th Sunday of the month. On the 2nd Sunday of the month Ulladulla Wharf markets and Huskisson markets are on.

 

With a variety of natural assets on offer in the Shoalhaven, the area is bound to fill your leisure time with many great activities. Enjoy the beaches, rivers, oceans, inlets and creeks which offer fishing, snorkelling, sailing, canoeing, surfing, boating, scuba diving, swimming and MUCH more. Check the Hanging Rock walk which takes you down to a suspension bridge down near the showground for spectacular views of the Shoalhaven River.

 

Land based activities include the many excellent bushwalks in the region. There are many picnic areas, parks and National Parks in the region. 

Nowra has a cinema, entertainment centre, indoor trampolining, water park at the local pool, game cave, Animal Zoo and Nowra Shoalhaven Trees Adventure flying foxes. Thai, Indian & Chinese restaurants. And when the lure away from the ever relaxing parts of nature occurs, the towns and villages will offer you shops, cinemas, theatre, arts, clubs, sporting fields and complexes, restaurants, cafes, markets and MUCH more.

Jamberoo Recreation Water and Action Park is 1 hour from Nowra as well as Illawarra Fly and Ulludulla Funland Australia for laser tag, dodgems and game machines (a little Luna park).
